Book Report 4, Blue Fingers by Cheryl Aylward Whitesel
The story takes place in the forest and mountains of Osaka, Japan and the story line is about a boy who lives with his family and his family tries to pay the daimyo with rice crops grown on their land but end up not having enough rice to pay the living expenses so the samurai that serve the daimyo come and burn down the house but their kid hides underneath the floor boards and narrowly escapes from the samurai and fire, once he escapes he runs to the bottom of the mountains and is attacked by a shinobi who takes him under his wings and tries to teach him the ways of the ninja but when they think he’s almost ready for a mission they get called to take care of the muskets getting imported into the country and they create a plan to stop the daimyo and stop the war that would jeopardize their home and people.
Once they get finished with the mission the kid gets his shinobi name “Blue Fingers” because after he got done writing letters his fingers would always be stained blue from the ink.
He goes on to live with his aunt and discovers his mother is still alive and that his aunt had a great shinobi hideout and many secrets within the house that he never knew about before.
Overall I thought this book was an excellent one it was really well organized it was very detailed I don’t think there is anything I would have done to make it better I haven’t ever read a book with such awe-struck ness.
